Meditation & Mindfulness

Sustaining creativity and clarity

In life and work today — whether you’re creating new works or delivering projects with people — there are often time and resource pressures. Focusing and being ‘in flow’ are valuable skills for solo and collaborative pursuits. Meditation and mindfulness offer techniques to bring you into these states of greater awareness of yourself and your surroundings.

Creating clear and calm physical and mental spaces

Ideas seem to flow more easily when we can bring our awareness to the present moment, and leave our worldly concerns to one side.

That doesn’t mean that thoughts and feelings won’t come up; we can learn to notice them without letting them disturb our attention.

Being able to enjoy your work and life with calmness and openness, can help to keep doubts and distractions at bay.

Why bring meditation and mindfulness practices into your life and workspaces?

Meditation and mindfulness practices offer a practical foundation for directing and focusing your attention.

Mindful movement, grounding your body through your senses and attending to your breath, are some of the building blocks for noticing where your attention is, and where you’d like it to be.

These skills are a companion to your existing technical skills and knowledge, not a substitute. And with practise, these times of greater self-awareness can assist with recognising and reducing symptoms of stress from our inner and outer environments. Clarity, calmness and creativity are easier to reach when our inner states and physical surroundings are in harmony.

Courses & Workshops

Bring creativity, calmness and clarity to your group or team, through learning and/or experiencing meditation and mindfulness.

  • Participate in a 30 minute-online session for yourself and your colleagues, where you can learn about, and ask questions about, introducing meditation and mindfulness to your workplace.

Designed for anyone in a role related to bringing greater wellness into workspaces. Topics include some of the research findings on meditation and mindfulness’s benefits in wellbeing at work, and how other businesses have approached introducing, and sustaining these practices.

Following the session, participants will receive a fact sheet with a selection of research findings and further readings.

  • Participate in a 60 minute group session, where you and your group can learn about and try out a selection of short practices that can be applied in your daily life.

  • This programme is designed to help work groups and businesses to integrate mindfulness practices with enhanced work environments to facilitate greater wellbeing.

The aim of the programme is to give participants information and techniques to create and maintain healthy inner and outer environments at work.

The course brings together Tracey’s skills in mindfulness and the design history of interior spaces. Clarity, calmness and creativity are easier to reach when our inner states and physical surroundings are in harmony.

Following a pre-programme survey of current individual and workspace wellbeing, Tracey meets with group members to see the workspace/s and undertand the group’s work context.

Tracey uses the pre-course information gathered to facilitate an initial workshop. Together, she and the group establish mindfulness themes and practical techniques to cover in the course, i.e., selecting those that will enhance wellbeing in their specific work environment.

Background topics include some of the science behind how the body and mind respond to different aspects of the environment (e.g., light, ventilation, materials, colours, and potential mental stressors), and learn how meditation and mindfulness techniques can assist in reducing the symptoms of stress.

In the weeks following the initial workshop, the particpants will learn and practise the techniques, and conclude with an action plan to implement beyond the course.

Select from a Pilot Course (Site review + Introductory Workshop + 4 weeks) or take the time for your people to further develop their personal and group practices with the Foundation Course (Site review + Introductory Workshop + 8 weeks).

Each course includes pre- and post-course wellbeing surveys, summary final report, links to free resources, and the option to take up a group discount on access to paid resources.

  • A guided session tailored to your group and event
